multi-purpose beauty products

purchase here
the most important part of traveling (other than an exciting itinerary and a great wardrobe) is having all of the beauty products you need! but too many products, especially ones you don't end up using, just weigh you down. here's how to lighten up with some of my favorite many-uses-in-one products:

what it is: disney princess 3-in-1 body wash, shampoo, conditioner
what it replaces: uhh, body wash, shampoo, conditioner (and shaving gel!)

don't let the girly packaging fool you- this is one practical product! i just bought a bottle at walmart a few weeks ago for under $3 and tried it out for myself. it has a great fruity scent and made my hair feel so soft and clean. i ended up using a little extra, as it doesn't lather quite as well as regular shampoo, but for this price, it's totally worth it. for a road trip with my husband a couple of weeks ago, i filled a travel 3-oz. squeeze bottle with this stuff and used it for everything- even shaving! definitely a must.

*if disney princesses aren't your jam, then try something similar, like pert plus 3-in-1, american crew classic 3-in-1, or even suave men's 3-in-1, if you dig that fresh masculine scent. there are so many products out there to choose from!

what it is: dove beauty bar for sensitive skin
what it replaces: body wash, body lotion, and face wash!
less than $2 a bar at walmart.com and at all drugstores

this isn't just your ordinary soap. this stuff contains 1/4 moisturizing cream and produces such a silky smooth lather. if you don't need an acne-busting face wash, this bar works fabulously on the face. it's very moisturizing and gentle. if you have sensitive skin, this is definitely for you!

*tip: use a sharp knife to cut the bar in half and put in a plastic container to save precious space!

what it is: nuance perfect lips lip quad
what it replaces: multiple lipsticks/glosses
$9.99 at cvs.com and in-store

if you're anything like me, you love your lip products. my look is not complete without lips! what i usually do on trips is painstakingly pick out which lip product will go with which outfit (neurotic much?), but this super-cool futuristic gizmo has me rethinking that. this neat little pod contains 4 varying shades, ranging all the way from super subtle to dark and dramatic, and a little brush for each so you don't have to use your pinky finger! genius.

*if these colors don't entice you, the lip pod also comes in cool shades.

what it is: lumene vitamin c+ illuminating anti-age bb cream
what it replaces: foundation, moisturizer, anti-aging cream, eye cream, and face spf!

yeah i know, there's a lot of hype about bb creams these days. to be honest, most of the ones on american shelves are nothing more than tinted moisturizer with a higher price tag. not so with this one. if you've ever tried lumene skin care before, you know the quality that comes with its name (i use their vitamin c+ eye cream, and it's amazing!). read the promises on the box- it delivers all of these! now i prefer at least spf 30 on my (pasty white) face, so you might need to pack an extra facial sunscreen, but if spf 20 is plenty for you, then you have hit the packing jackpot, my friend.

*this bb cream comes in light and medium. click here to read an in-depth review.
